Huang Tingjian Cursive Space Studies

Cursive script has a very high artistic expression,which can not be separated from the strict rules behind cursive script and a unique artistic language.In the history of Chinese calligraphy,all the cursive calligraphers in the past dynasties have their own unique spatial formation.Based on traditional Chinese calligraphy theory and western visual perception theory,this paper explores the spatial structure of Huang Tingjian’s cursive script,the spatial structure characteristics of Huang Tingjian’s cursive script in different periods of development are summarized through image analysis one by one,again to the Yuan Fu period of calm and contentment;cursive space features from trivial to strange and dangerous unstable,and then to the great opening and closing,the context has been relatively clear.Huang Tingjian’s cursive script uses a combination of pen,texture,ink and space to create an integrated and organic space on paper.This paper explores the unique visual form and spatial composition of Huang Tingjian’s cursive script,with a view to applying its laws and principles to the practice of cursive writing.
