Prosocial behavior of adolescents has always been the focus of people's attention. As an important field of positive psychology and a central topic of adolescent gratitude education, the relationship between gratitude and prosocial behavior has also attracted much attention. Some researchers have found that gratitude, indebtedness and general positive emotions can trigger prosocial behavior in individuals.By comparing the effects of the above emotional states on prosocial behavior, the study found that among these emotions, gratitude has a more significant effect on prosocial behavior. On this basis,it has further explored that the relatedness needs are important mediators of the influence of gratitude on prosocial behavior. The research took high school students in grade one as the research object. In this study,180 subjects in 3 randomly selected classes were randomly divided into three groups of gratitude, indebtedness and general positive emotions by means of cluster sampling for questionnaire survey,to explore whether the above three emotional states have different influences on prosocial behavior.Based on study 1,study 2 added relatedness needs variables into gratitude and prosocial behavior, and analyzed the questionnaire results of 300 subjects in 6 classes in the same way.A relationship model was established in Amos to explore the mediating role of relatedness needs in gratitude and prosocial behavior. The main results were as follows:(1)The prosocial behavior score of the gratitude group was significantly higher than that of the positive emotion group;(2)compared with the indebtedness and general positive emotions, the activation of gratitude can positively and significantly predict prosocial behavior;(3)there is a significant positive correlation between gratitude and relatedness needs, that is,the higher the gratitude score, the higher the relatedness needs score;(4)the direct effect model of gratitude and prosocial behavior have a good fitting degree, and the direct effect of gratitude is significant. When the relatedness needs to be added into the model as a mediation variable, the model fitting degree is good, and the relatedness needs partially mediate the effect of gratitude on prosocial behavior.Based on the above results, the following conclusions can be drawn: compared with indebtedness and general positive emotions, the gratitude of adolescents has a significant positive impact on prosocial behavior;the relatedness needs partially mediate the effect of gratitude on prosocial behavior in adolescents.
