On The "Dream Narration" In Lu Xun's Literary Works

The study of Lu xun's literary works,especially the prose poems named Wild Grass,from the perspective of dreams is one of the most dynamic and interpretive Spaces in Lu xun's research.It's marginal but attravtive.The marginal feature refers to that there is a certain part of the dream text involved in the numerous points of attention on the study of Lu xun's literary works,but it doesn't rise to the standard of the whole research on Lu xun's literary works.Meanwhile,the characteristic of attraction is the height of Lu xun's thought and the mystery of his literary creation,which is embodied in Wild Grass.The characteristics described above make the study of Lu xun's literary works from the perspective of dream fall into the dilemma of single fiction style or prose style.Consequently,in this paper,the research object is extended to all the literature works of Lu xun collected at present and the perspective is determined as the dream narration.In this way,the untypical meaning of dreams in Lu xun's literary works can be incorporated into the overall framework of the dream narration,then explore the reason why Lu xun still uses dreams to tell stories as a modern writer and the classification of dream narration in his literary works as well as the literary value orientation and life belief in Lu xun's different life stages.This paper is divided into three chapters,which elaborated in progressive thinking.The first chapter discusses Lu xun's conscious choice of dream narration in his literary writing.Firstly,the relationship between the physiological dream experience and the rhetorical art of narration is discussed.Secondly,based on Lu xun's life experience,it analyzes the important subconscious background of dream narration: the suppressed hero complex in his idea of “Establishing Human” and the psychology of revenge,etc.The last section explores the ideological appearance of the combination of realism and symbolism in dream narration by taking the translation of Symbolism of Depress written by H.Kuriyagawa as the clue.The second chapter is the classification of dream narration from the prospective of dreams' figurative structure based on the collection of dream narrative text in all Lu xun's literary works.The dream narration is divided into three parts according to its representational structure in this chapter,which named the dream when fall asleep and a dream with a dream and the dream about waking up.In order to analysis the Lu xun's significance of the representational structure,the dissertation in this chapter will combine the time idea about “now” in Lu xun's philosophy idea and be incorporated into one of the three dimensional time(past,present and future).The third chapter mainly explores the narrative aesthetics of dream narration in Lu xun's literary works,which also can be named Lu xun's life philosophy.The train of thought in this chapter is explore the collision and spiritual force of two extremes between the dream narration in Buddhism and the metaphor for dream in Nietzsche's philosophy.The conclusion part expounds the uniqueness of Lu xun's dream narration in Chinese modern literature and the shadow of Lu xun's dream narration in Chinese contemporary literature.
