In the 16th century to the early 17th century, from the Jiajing period to the Wanli period in the late Ming Dynasty, western missionaries entered China’s mainland through Macau, bringing with them advanced science and technology, culture, art, religion, etc.,where Western and Eastern cultures met for the first time.As western technology, culture, art, and religion entered China, due to their influences,an all-encompassing booked named "CH’ENG-SHIH MO-YUAN",appeared at the time in the Ming Dynasty. There are more than 500 ink-moulded images in the book, including more than 50 color images and four Western prints on religious subjects. These four Western prints are exquisitely portrayed with Bible stories. This book not only opened the door for Western art and culture to enter Chinese books,it also expanded channels for cultural exchanges between China and the West, and held a very important position in Chinese and Western cultural exchanges. This article attempts to use these four Western prints as the research object, imagery as the research method, and using Bible stories as the starting point to explore the changes in the meaning and function of the images, and the spread and influence on the development of Ming Dynasty art during the time.
