Shaped quantifiers are used more frequently,which best reflects the cognitive characteristics of the Chinese and Vietnamese nations.But the complicated usage of shaped quantifiers is one of the difficulties in learning Chinese.Based on this,this article collects Chinese-Vietnamese shaped quantifiers from the "Modern Chinese Quantifier Usage Dictionary" and Hoàng Phê’s "T?? ?ie n Tie ng Vie??t"("Vietnamese Dictionary"),and makes a cognitive comparison of Chinese-Vietnamese shaped quantifiers from the perspective of cognitive linguistics study.This thesis is divided into three parts: First,we explain the reason and significance of choosing the shaped quantifiers in Chinese and Vietnamese,then introduce the main research methods,corpus sources,and reviews the research status of shaped quantifiers in Chinese and Vietnam.Second,we focus on the comparative analysing cognity between Chinese and Vietnamese shaped quantifiers.Based on the encyclopedia classification method,we divide shaped quantifiers into two categories: "shaped quantifiers measuring living objects" and "shaped quantifiers measuring inanimate objects",and then analyse the semantic features of Chinese and Vietnamese shaped quantifiers,further explore the recognition basis behind these similarities and differences,and explore the ways and means of Chinese and Vietnamese shaped quantifier category inference.After research,we get the characteristics of Chinese and Vietnamese people’s cognition of shaped quantifiers.The former focuses on the appearance of things,and the latter pays attention to the dynamic characteristic of things in addition to the appearance of things.Third,we analyse the errors of Vietnamese students in learning Chinese shaped quantifiers and then put forward some teaching suggestions.The errors of Vietnamese students’ while learning shaped classifiers,as well as the reasons for these errors are obtained and explored by questionnaires and inquiries.Through investigation,we find that Vietnamese students’ errors in learning Chinese shaped quantifiers arise from the negative transfer of mother tongue prototype category,mother tongue conceptual metaphor,and the influence of excessive reinforcement of the target language.After analyzing the effects of these cognitive factors,we also give practical teaching and learning suggestions according to the data obtained based on such errors and the reasons behind these errors that Vietnamese students’ encounter. |
