This paper mainly focuses on the adverbial errors frequently made by Vietnamese students in the process of learning Chinese.Firstly, a comparative study is made between Vietnamese and Chinese in grammatical structure and word order of multiple attributes. The findings are as follow:(1) the differences in grammatical structure between the two languages are very few, with the exception that the multiple attributes in Vietnamese has the same grammatical structure as the multiple, complement and even as adverbial in Chinese; (2) the main difference between the two languages in word order is that the multiple attributes in Chinese are always before the head, whereas the multiple attributes in Vietnamese is usually after the head.Secondly, based on the material gathered from the exercises of Vietnamese students majoring in Chinese, the multiple attributes errors can be classified into four types:Central language and attribute inversion, multiple attributes confuse, the error of "的", other errors.Lastly, the paper tries to explore the causes of these errors and puts forward some strategies for teaching. The writer holds that the main causes of the errors are the negative transfer of the students' native language and the difficulties of Chinese. So in the process of teaching Vietnamese students the multiple attributes or Chinese, a teacher should make a comparative study between the native and target languages and help the students understand the differences between the two languages, at the same time simplifying the teaching methodology in order to encourage retention among the students。...
