Research On Legal Liability For Environmental Pollution In Offshore Petroleum Exploration

Recently,the oceans pollution happens a lot during the offshore oil exploration.The oil spill in the Gulf of Bohai has a significant impact on China in 2011.It also has a serious impact on the ecology of the residents around Bobai Bay and Bohai Bay.Meanwhile,the follow-up treatment of the incident also has a severe challengeto the emergency disposal mechanism of China.And the legal system of oil pollution damage compensation were also tested.Compared to the recent occurrence of other well-known maritime oil pollution incident in the world,such as the 2010 US Gulf of Mexico oil spill,the 2011 Chevron company Brazil oil spill,we have a long distance from their ability on the treatment of offshore oil pollution.Based on the analysis of the classic cases,this paper analyzes the differences between the legal system,coping ability and the safeguard system of China's oil exploration and environmental pollution in other countries.This paper puts forward the construction and perfection of the legal system of environmental pollution rights protection in China's offshore oil exploration,and discusses the legal liability forms of environmental pollution of offshore oil and oil exploration in order to provide some help to China's environmental protection rights legislation and judicial issues.
