The Effect Of Social Stratification On Local Government Satisfaction

Government satisfaction is crucial for a government.If residents' satisfaction with the government is high,on the one hand,it shows the residents' recognition of the government,and on the other hand,it is conducive to the administration of the government.However,when residents have low satisfaction with the government,it not only reflects residents' dissatisfaction with the government,but also may lead to a series of group activities that are not conducive to social development.Therefore,it is important and meaningful to study government satisfaction.This paper focuses on the impact of social stratification on local government satisfaction.In this paper,it is believed that the satisfaction of individual to local government is admittedly related to the individual's own feelings,but,as the groups,the satisfaction to the local government also manifests groups difference between the different social strata of society.At the same time,the study of these groups difference is more realistic to the society than the study of individual differences.Based on the comprehensive Survey of "Chinese society"(Chinese Social Survey,CSS)2013 data,using multiple linear regression model,mainly from the traditional social stratification,the Chinese characteristic social stratification and subjective stratification three aspects to discuss the influence of social stratification on local government satisfaction.Among them,the division of the traditional social stratification is based on income,occupation,education and consumption;the Chinese characteristic social stratification is divided into two groups,one is based on household registration(Huji),and another is based on housing.At the same time,age,gender,marital status,political affiliation,etc.will be as the control variables arranged in the model.The study found that,from income stratification,residents' satisfaction with local government showed a trend of middle height but two sides low.From education stratification,consumption stratification and household registration stratification,it presents the higher the social class is,the lower the residents' satisfaction with local government expresses.From the perspective of occupational stratification,it presents a situation of two sides high but middle low.From housing stratification,according to the house area per person,it shows that the higher the social class is,the higher degree of satisfaction of residents show to local governments,but the situation is opposite when it is related to the total value of the housing market.Subjective stratification shows that the higher the social class is,the higher residents' satisfaction with local government expresses.At the same time,it is found that education and occupation had interaction effects on local government satisfaction.Specifically,the degree of education is divided into compulsory education group and senior high school group,and the satisfaction of occupational stratification in local government shows a trend of two sides high but middle low.However,in the higher education group,it indicates the low group have low satisfaction,and the middle and upper group have high satisfaction.
