The intellectual community plays an important role in the political development of China. In recent decades, with the popularization and development of education, the importance of knowledge has been continuously highlighted, the intellectual community as well as their influence has been growing unceasingly.Their political attitudes,to some extent, affect the social stability and the development of democratic politics. In China, the empirical research on the political attitude mainly focuses on the major social class and the youth. In terms of the major social class, the political attitudes and function of the middle class have received sufficient attention, while intellectuals are ignored who might have a rather significant impact on political development. The focus of the youth path is on the political attitude of college students, but accepting the higher education does not mean that they will become intellectuals in the future. Therefore,It is more necessary and important to analyze the political attitude of intellectuals. The "Shanghai professional social attitudes survey questionnaire" used in this paper includes many questions or dimensions of political attitude. It can select, compare and verify the measurement indicators of political attitude on the most extensive basis. Thus we can conduct a quantitative analysis on the overall condition of Shanghai intellectuals’ political attitude, probe the internal differences of the political attitude of intellectuals.According to the result of the research, first,The political identity and political trust of the Shanghai intellectuals are relatively higher, and the sense of political efficacy and authority submission are relatively lower.Secondly, political actives account for the largest proportion of Shanghai intellectuals.Third, there are significant differences in the political attitudes between managerial and professional intellectuals, party and non-party intellectuals, intellectuals with high and low economic status, and intellectuals of arts and sciences.
