China and Vietnam have maintained close ties with each other since ancient times.Since the Chinese Qin and Han Dynasties,Vietnam has been incorporated into the Chinese territory and became a part of China. After the independence of Vietnam,Vietnam became the South China important vassal.Modern China has helped Vietnam resist Western colonialists many times. After the founding of the new China, the relations between the two countries had been twists and turns, and the relationship normalization was realized in 1991.After entering the new century, the cooperation between China and Vietnam has expanded further.Maintaining geo security, consolidating the socialist system and promoting economic development have become the basis for the cooperation between the two countries.Politically, the interaction between the two parties of the two countries is more frequent, and the exchange of visits and meetings between senior leaders are becoming more and more common.Under the guidance of the policy of "long-term stability, facing the future, good neighborly friendship and comprehensive cooperation",the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries has continued to develop.Close political relations have promoted the development of economic relations. Both countries have made positive progress in trade, investment, tourism and other aspects of cooperation. In 2004,China became the largest trading partner of Vietnam.Since then,China's share of Vietnam's foreign trade has been rising, and now it has reached over 40%.The exchange of personnel and cultural exchanges between the two countries has been strengthened.Chinese culture has been paid more and more attention in Vietnam.Chinese movies,TV dramas, literature, art and so on are all loved by the Vietnamese people. The once interrupted military cooperation between the two countries has gradually resumed and strengthened. While the exchanges between China and Vietnam have developed rapidly, there are also some negative factors restricting the development of the relations between the two countries. The first of all is the South China Sea dispute. The South China Sea dispute has profound historical and realistic reasons. It involves all aspects of sovereignty, security, resources and strategy and so on,which is the most important problem that hinders the development of bilateral relations. The South China Sea dispute has surpassed the political sphere and has had a wide impact on the economic, cultural and military exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. The second is trade imbalance. In the process of Sino Vietnamese economic and trade ties gradually strengthening,China's trade surplus isalso gradually increasing. The long-standing huge trade deficit has caused widespread dissatisfaction in Vietnam and deepened the Vietnamese public's concern about the so-called "China Threat Theory".Finally, the issue of Vietnamese nationalism,Vietnamese nationalism in the process of the emergence and development of a certain anti Chinese color. When Vietnam's internal and external situation changes,Vietnamese nationalism may affect the normal development of Sino Vietnamese relations and impact Sino Vietnamese relations. The development of China Vietnam relations requires the joint efforts of the two countries. The two countries' strategic importance to each other has become the basis for further development of Sino Vietnamese relations. On the issue of the South China Sea,China should be based on reality and first perfect the construction of the islands and reefs in the South China Sea.On this basis,we push the countries around the South China Sea to sign the code of conduct of the South China Sea under the framework of China ASEAN and jointly develop the resources of the South China Sea,and take effective actions to control the situation in the South China Sea.The problem of trade imbalance between the two countries is gradually solved by expanding the scale of investment and strengthening the cooperation of production capacity. In response to the issue of Vietnamese nationalism,China should strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese government, and promote civil exchanges between the two countries,so as to promote mutual understanding between the two peoples.China and Vietnam are neighbours to each other.Mutual benefit and equality and win-win cooperation are always the main themes of the relations between the two countries. Some conflicts and contradictions are inevitable in the process of the two countries' contacts. However, these contradictions are only part of the relationship between the two countries. The historical trend of the continuous development of bilateral relations is irresistible.
