China and Russia have deep geopolitical and economic ties.In the second half of the 19 th century,Chinese labor migration to Russia set off its first climax in the late 19 th century and early 20 th century due to the changes in the environment of the two countries.During the period of war and revolution, the Chinese in the far east participated in the war for their own interests, but some of them fell victim to the military communist policy. In the late 1950 s,Sino-Soviet relations deteriorated, and Chinese labor services to the Soviet union were interrupted, and gradually resumed in the late 1980 s.After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the transition of the Russian economic system and its influence led to the lax management of the far east border, chaotic market order and sharp decline of people's living standards. In this context,Chinese migrant workers to Russia in the far east to work again into the climax. The number of contemporary Chinese migrant workers in the far east of Russia presents a development stage of "rapid growth--dynamic fluctuation--stable regulation",especially after the implementation of the labor quota policy in Russia, the number is basically controlled at 10,000~30,000 per year. Most of the Chinese migrant workers in the far east are engaged in agriculture, forestry, construction, fishery, trade and other aspects, showing the development characteristics of diversified channels of entry into Russia, working stages, strong adaptability to work and low degree of social integration. The arrival of Chinese migrant workers in the far east alleviated the labor shortage in the far east, strengthened the commodity circulation in the far east and enhanced the traditional friendship between the two peoples. However, due to the obstacles of laws and regulations in the far east, the increase of alternative labor force, backward economic infrastructure, severe security problems and other factors, the number of migrant workers in Russia and China has gradually decreased in recent years. Therefore,Russia should improve the legal system, improve the infrastructure, increase the cultural exchanges between China and Russia, and enhance mutual trust.
