Due to the strategic interests of the United States and Israel,similar social systems and values,religious and cultural connections,and the influence of American Jews,the United States and Israel have gradually formed special strategic cooperative relations in the process of long-term interaction.The United States adjusts its policy toward Israel as the strategic interests of the United States change.During the Cold War,the United States' greatest interest in the Middle East was to limit the expansion of the Soviet Union in the Middle East.Israel has played an important role in curbing the Soviet Union's expansion and balancing Arab countries in the Middle East.After the end of the Cold War,the interests of the United States in the Middle East were transformed into combating terrorism and preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.During Obama's administration,the United States adjusted its Israeli policy.The main reasons are as follows: First,during Bush's administration,influenced by neo-conservative thinking,the United States' violent military actions in the Middle East plunged the United States into a passive situation.Second,the US domestic economy is developing slowly due to the impact of the economic crisis.Third,after Obama took office,he adjusted the Middle East policy and adopted a contraction strategy to shift the strategic focus to the Asia-Pacific region.Israel's position as the United States in the Middle East strategy is highlighted by its contraction strategy.During Obama's administration,the United States deepened the security cooperation between the United States and Israel,increased military assistance to Israel,supported the development of Israeli society,and promoted the Palestinian-Israeli peace process.There are two characteristics of its policy.The first focus on comprehensiveness and balance,and the second focus on dialogue and multilateral coordination.The essence of this policy is to ensure the security and development of Israel,to make Israel the strategic fortress of the United States in the Middle East and to integrate Israel into the global strategy of the United States.The adjustment of U.S.policy on Israel affects the security and development of Israel,the national interests of the United States and the security situation and peace process in the Middle East...
