| An organization’s hierarchical arrangement to its technique depends to a great extent on administration’s capacity to obtain information to settle on choices and to make informed decisions.Consideration has been given to the investigation of organisational correspondence in authoritative conduct of research because of the criticalness of this variable to organisational efficacy. This research intends to investigate how effective information flow could impact staff performance in technical universities(TU’s)in Ghana. That is how efficient and effective information flow could influence institutional policies, practices, and programs and how this could possibly affect staff performance. Also,it examined the challenges associated with information flow on the management and workers of the institutions and offered some policy recommendations.Primary data from the 10 TU’s(TTU,STU,CTU,HTU,TaTU,ATU,KuTU,KTU B’Poly and W’Poly)in Ghana was used in the analysis of this research work covering the period between 2013 and 2017.To achieve the research objectives, the researcher adopted Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)methodology for the study.DEA was adapted for this study because it maximizes the output measure of the various DMU without making any assumptions on the form of inputs to output. The findings from the study indicated that, out of the 10 TU’s which were investigated ATU,KuTU and KTU came out with the best overall efficiency score of 1 whiles the rest did not.Major reasons that accounted for ATU,KuTU and KTU to score high efficiency were as a result of the appropriate funds made available towards the investment into acquiring information systems which are up to date to ease information flow. However, the remaining seven TU’s(TTU,STU,CTU,HTU,TaTU,B’Poly and W’Poly)were seen as inefficient institutions because they could not adopt and blend their input resources appropriately to achieve desired outputs. |
