Research On The Local Integration Of Tourist Labor Immigration In Barkhor Street, Lhasa

The process of globalization has accelerated the flow of people,and the tourism labor immigrants have become a common phenomenon in today's society.As a typical ethnic and religious community,Lhasa Barkhor Street,which is located in the west,has always maintained a unique ethnic and religious culture,and has also gathered a large number of tourism labor immigrants.But what is the current status of the group in Lhasa?What are the motivations for them going to Barkhor Street in Lhasa?Has the integration been achieved?What resistance did they encounter when integrating?What is the integration process?These issues still need further exploration.Therefore,this paper combines the "four-in-one" social and cultural geography research framework,and attempts to analyze the motives and current situation of the local integration of tourism labor immigrants in Barkhor Street,Lhasa.This article clarifies the local integration structure,process and characteristics of tourism labor immigrants in the context of local environmental,economic and cultural impacts in Barkhor Street,Lhasa.It is hoped that the research can further enrich and expand the research system and scope of tourism sociology,local and local integration.In practice,it provides new ideas for optimizing the self-identification of the tourism labor immigrant groups in Lhasa Barkhor Street and boosting the prosperity and stability of the Tibetan region.Relying on "Study on place integration of tourism immigrants in ethnic and religious communities in the typical cities of western China" of national natural science foundation of China and the basis of previous theoretical research,this study uses constructivist ideas,combined with non-participatory observation methods,semi-structured interviews and grounded theory to explore the local integration process of tourism labor immigrants in Barkhor Street,Lhasa.The specific research objectives are as follows:First,reveal the basic structure and process of local integration of tourism labor immigrants in Barkhor Street,Lhasa;Second,Explore the influence relationship among the various structures of the tourism labor immigrants' local integration model in Barkhor Street,Lhasa;Third,explain the impact of various structures on the process of local integration of tourism labor immigrants in Local integration model of tourism labor immigrants in Barkhor Street,Lhasa;Fourth,analyze the special impact of the religious characteristics and social atmosphere of Barkhor Street in the local integration of tourism labor immigrants;At last,combine the previous research results to expand the theory and practice.To complete the research objectives,the author went to Barkhor Street in Lhasa from July 15th,2017 to August 31st,2017 for a 48-day field survey and in-depth interviews to collect the interview data.This study uses grounded theory to encode and analyze the interview data,and theoretically constructs the process of local integration of tourism labor immigrants.The following research conclusions were drawn:(1)The process of localization of tourism labor immigrants in Barkhor Street,Lhasa is divided into four stages,named self-evaluation stage,motivation stage,practice stage and attachment stage,which correspond to natural environment adaptation,livelihood integration,social integration and emotional integration,including eight sub-categories called climate weather,geographical environment,tourism production,social work,social atmosphere,living customs,cultural identity and religious identity;(2)The social atmosphere plays an important role in promoting the integration of tourism labor immigrants in Barkhor Street,Lhasa.However,the integration of most tourism labor immigrants in Barkhor Street in Lhasa still remains at the level of emotional integration,not yet involved in the level of self-identification and development;(3)The emotional integration of tourism labor immigrants in Barkhor Street,Lhasa is mostly about the subjective abstraction of symbolic identity and attachment,lacking of in-depth study of local culture,and the difference in the recognition and integration of real local cultural connotations.This study also sorts out local integration and other related concepts,mainly with the following theoretical contributions:(1)The model of local integration of tourism labor immigrants was constructed,and the local integration law of the group was initially analyzed.It provides a theoretical reference for how to guide tourism labor immigrants to actively participate in local integration and policy formulation;(2)Introduce the "four-in-one" theory into the local integration study of tourism labor immigrants.To a certain extent,it has expanded the depth of research and the breadth of social and cultural geography;(3)The theoretical system of the study on the integration of tourism labor immigrants was initially constructed,which provided an important theoretical reference for the study of the integration of tourism labor immigrants among other ethnic religious communities.Due to the limitations of the conditions,the empirical test part of this study is slightly insufficient.Future research can expand the scope of sampling,and conduct research on tourism labor immigrants group through a multi-perspective,multidisciplinary,qualitative and quantitative research model.
