A Casework Study Of Grief Counseling For Families Of Criminal Victims

In the current process of the construction of a society ruled by law in China,criminal crimes such as serious violent crimes are still endless,but in most cases the defendants involved in the case will eventually be punished by national laws.Compared to the intense reports and concerns of one side of the defendant,the other side of the case—the criminal victim and his family—has less concern in most cases.However,behind every violent crime case,the families of criminal victims who have lost their relatives have to bear the sorrow and grief of bereavement.Relying on the convenience of the internship project in the S City Intermediate People's Court Social Governance Project,the author found through previous investigations that in those serious violent crime cases,the family members of the victims generally have persistent sorrow,relatively high psychological pressure,and significantly poor living conditions.Based on this phenomenon,the author chose Ms.Chen,the family member of the victim of the C case during the service process as the research object,and took the casework of social work as the method,and took Mas low's hierarchy of needs theory,dependency theory,and social support theory as the theoretical basis for the research.Six case services were planned and carried out in order to explore the case services for the sad counselling of criminal victims' families.From the evaluation and feedback results of the later service objects,the author finds that the case study of social work involving the sad counselling of the families of criminal victims is effective:The client's lasting sorrow was effectively alleviated,the negative living conditions were improved to a certain extent,the concern and support of relatives and friends appeared to be effective,and the client began to return to normal life.It can be seen that grief counseling is the necessary support to alleviate the continuous grief of family members of criminal victims,and casework is also an effective way to grief counseling of family members of criminal victims.To a certain extent,sad counselling services for thefamilies of criminal victims are of great value in extending services in the field of judicial trials.But for the moment,the case service of grief counseling for criminal victims needs to be further promoted.
