Group Work Involves Research On Emotional Support For Widowed Female Elderly In Rural Areas

With the acceleration of the aging process and the fact that the average life expectancy of women is generally higher than that of men,the number of widowed women is increasing,and many scholars have studied this group in terms of psychological problems,social support networks,life problems and spiritual comfort.However,in the rural areas,the attention to the widowed elderly is less and the spiritual needs of the widowed elderly in different areas are different.This study selected a rural area with clan characteristics in Jiangxi Province.After investigation,it is found that the number of widowed women in the village is large,and the phenomenon of lack of emotional support is prominent.Based on the specific needs of the clients,this study used group work method to intervene the emotional support problem of widowed women in the village,in order to achieve the goal of alleviating the emotional loss caused by widowhood.Based on previous visits and surveys,this study mainly collected data analysis of widowed elderly by observation method and free interview method Z and further evaluated the emotional needs of widowed elderly in Z village,including family needs,friendship needs,community support needs three aspects.Guided by social support network theory,symbolic interaction theory and advantage perspective,this study selected 8 elderly widows of similar ages as clients to carry out eight group work activities.The process of group activities is divided into five stages: group members know each other,promote group members to communicate with each other,encourage group members to share widowhood experience,guide group members to try new things and return to family.The group practice assessment used the satisfaction scale and the group interview evaluation table to analyze the satisfaction of the clients and the achievement of the goals of the emotional support group of the widowed female elderly.Feedback from the team members and various assessments found that the group goals have been well achieved,Z the phenomenon of emotional support loss in the elderly of widowed women in the village has been effectively alleviated,and the emotional support network between family,friends,neighbors and communities has been initially established,but there are still many shortcomings to be reflected in the study.In order to solve the problems related to the widowed elderly,it is necessary tomake comprehensive use of the three major methods of social work and draw lessons from the multi-disciplinary theoretical knowledge to find a new way.In addition,in the face of social work professional ethics dilemma,the localization of social work needs to be combined with the rural reality of our country.
