Italy is one of the most typical cases in Europe in decades.Italian populist parties developed with the historical roots, economic recession, corruption scandal, culture resistance and Internet factor. The first populist government constituted by the Five Star Movement and the Northern League only existed 14 months. From political parties perspective, the differences between these two populist parties contributed to the collapse of Italian populist government. For example, first, the LN is a far-right party while the M5 S cannot be placed in the political spectrum.Second, the M5 S focused on income security, public health system and environment protection, and the LN paid more attention on decreasing taxation, making single-tax rate and restrictions to the refugees.Third, the members or the supporters of these two parties tended to be more similar and showed a more competitive tendency.Besides, the advantage of poll for the LN and the comparatively ideal results of the local elections made Salvini more confident to break up the coalition government and try to push an early election.Italy and China have geographical, historical and cultural advantaged which could be made use in “One Belt One Road” initiative, but meanwhile,it should be noticed that the potential negative influence caused by the fragmentation of Italian politics and the frequent changes of the government.Whether the now coalition government could resist the threat from the LN or not depends on the Covid-19 situation and the forthcoming livelihood issues.
