Looking At The Value Conflicts Of Chinese Family Education From "Tiger Mom And Cat Dad"

Family is an important place for education,and the first teacher for children is parents.The individual quality of parents is very important for the education of their children.For each child,the way how their parents thinking,how they chosen to do when facing occasion things in their life,their faith,their lifestyle,is a model that influences them at all times.There is no doubt that so many people described the child as a mirror of there parents.Now we are in a period of building socialist market economy,making money seems like the most important and interesting thing in our life,and the education is ignored in contrary.Some parents shrink the invest of their children’s education because of the degree of education,and then leads to the incompatible of the education between school and family.Family education is the one and everlasting theme of human society.In the different period of history,family education always faces different questions.We all know that its easier bearing than raising,for young parent,how to educate their children is a big question,and this question is the most difficult one because in fact,they are just child themselves not so long ago.Education problems recently become the hot topic because of the drama tiger mom and cat dad.This drama has causes the big talk of the disagreement of education concept,lots of parents shows their point of idea about the education concept.Our paper tends to use the grounded theory,to analyze the family education traits of this drama,then popularize it into our daily life,to provide a standard mode of family education for our country.The grounded theory is a top-down method of building the reality theory,the principle of this theory is,first,to collect information systematically and search for the central concept through those material,then,to construct a related social theory through those conceptions according to the relationship of those conception.The grounded theory is a kind of qualitative study,this article chose the education style to“qianqian” of the drama tiger mom and cat dad,with their behavior being coded and analyzed,then found the trait as listed behind: First parents have contradictions about how to educate children,they do not reach to a agreement about this question,this situation leads to the conflict of children’s education.The second conclusion is that the contradiction of parents will brings their child confusion,sometimes will leads to psychology problems,it is not good for them to have a healthy and happy childhood.The last one is that parents will reflect and change their way of education,they will change their aim from the narrow grade to the more important aspect,that is not only the development about their body,but also their mind.That is what education truly for:about a human’s life-span development.Though the analysis,we find that parents show conflict with the value orientation in Chinese family education.To the writer,modern familyeducation should be inclined to pay positive attention to one’s development,to one’s integrated development and sustainable development.Parents should respect every unique and sacred life.
