| James Yen(1890-1990),was born in BaZhong of Sichuan.He is famous as an educator and social reform movement of civilian practitioners in the world.He minded"people are the foundation of the solid Bunning" the Chinese old saying,in order to achieve "eliminating illiteracy to cultivate new citizens" civilian educational goals.He dedicated whole life to China and the world civilian education and rural construction and has made outstanding achievements.This author attempts to study twentieth century famous educator James Yen civilian research ethics education and hope to objectively grasp the significance of its civilian educational theory and ethics as a whole,to find out its meaning to learn from contemporary rural education.The main thesis is divided into four parts,the first part of the study focuses on the domestic situation of mass education on ethics.The second part of the thesis by analysis of the historical backgrounds,his education process and practical experience,to explore theoretical and practical source of civilian education ethics,which interpret its meaning civilian education ethics.The third part is the most important part of the thesis,mainly on the theory and practice of mass education ethics and conduct in-depth analysis of the sort.The important part of the thesis is about the purpose of "eliminating illiteracy to cultivate new citizens",by means of the social investigation,drilling persons,following examples,Yan hoped to transform the entire life by giving everyone of the nation the equal chance through the four educations—literary and art education to solve ignorance,livelihood education to solve poverty,hygienic education to solve weakness,citizen education to solve selfishness.The last part of the thesis is about features and its history comments of Yan's mass education thought.After analyzing the main contents of Yan's thought,the writer points out that the mass education has some features.Which has historical significances and realistic values. |
