Based on the existing literature, this paper mainly conduct a deep research onthe Chinese Rural Construction college founded by Y.C.James Yen during the period theRepublic of China, from its founding background, development course, administrationand teaching management, teaching practice, and its characteristics; its purpose is todeeply reveals the college education experience and the unique historical value and theoutstanding contributions of James yen to the rural education in our country.This article is divided into six parts, more than50000words. The first part ismainly talk about the background of China’s rural construction college founded, whichis from the present situation of Republic of China’s higher education development, thethought and characteristics of James Yen’s civilians education, the development of "YuCai School" in Duan Ding county during the Anti-Japanese War, the increasingly lack ofperson with ability in rural construction, etc. The second part mainly illustrates thefounding and development course of China’s Rural Construction College from Yu Caimiddle school and Chinese Rural Construction College two periods. The third partmainly study the China’s rural construction college administrative management fromits site selection, building facilities, sources of funds, etc. The fourth part summarizesthe teaching management of China’s Rural Construction College from the teachers andstudents, curriculum, etc. The fifth part talks China’s Rural Construction College’steaching practice from practice places and methods, etc. The sixth part intends to give apreliminary evaluation on the historical position of China’s Rural Construction Collegefrom the characteristics, historical enlightenment, ultimate fate, etc.Through the above study of six parts, this paper draws the following conclusion:The founding of China’s Rural Construction College is the result of James yen’sattribution to civilian education and rural construction practice. During the Republic of China, education distributed imbalance, the target is not practical, and the people arenot civilized, James Yen use the thought of civilian education in rural areas construction,combine the development of financial resources of the people with the construction ofthe rural township, train practical township building talent on the platform of RuralConstruction College. But the special circumstances—Anti-Japanese War interrupt theongoing training of county "Yu Cai school"’s development, talent is increasingly beinglack of in rural construction. Later, James Yen came to Xiema village, Beibei District,Chongqing city, and set up China’s Rural Construction College along the beach of DaMo Tan river. Through a series of construction, management, culture and the uniqueeducational measures implemented, China’s Rural Construction College produced alarge number of excellent practical talents, which made an important contribution toconstruction and education in rural areas, and it is still a beneficial experience forreference for our rural education and the development of higher education in nowadays.
