| The study selected two pure Salar villages in M County,Qinghai as survey location, the development and changes of education position as the starting point, the author try to discuss the factors of affecting the development of modem education and use culture lag theory and cultural diversity theory to explore the interaction between modem education and traditional culture.Firstly, through summarizing the education development history of M Salar area and analysis of the educational status of the sample, the author summarizes the characteristics of the development of the Salar education in rural areas. The conclusions are as follows:(1)In contrast, the 16-year-old and the older groups, the overall level of education is low and the illiteracy rate is still high; With the reduction of the major labor groups’(from 16-year-old to 55-year-old)age,the illiteracy rate gradually declined and the educational level of the population gradually increased.(2)The enrollment rate of school-age children has risen markedly, but their school age is slightly later than the specified age,and the school age is different between the same age girls and boys.(3)The overall level of education of women is lower than men.Be seen, the Salar education in rural areas have greatly developed, but there are still some problems.Secondly, analysising the causes of the achievements and the problems with the Salar education in rural areas, the author believe that the belief that the combination of the local geography, national policy, the level of socio-economic development, social and cultural interaction result the situation. There are some following factors of promoting the development:(1)The promotion of national policy:Since the founding of the country,a series of educational policy in different years promote the development of modern education.(2)socio-economic factors:with the development of the way of local livelihoods, especially the development of the labor export industry promoted the development of education in some ways.Mainly as follows:Remittances of migrant workers to the home become an important funding of education, which provided funding for the development of school education; The most absentee concept of education has been changed, and gradually realized the importance of education. The development of unfavorable factors included as follows:(1)Geographical environment affected people’s attitude and philosophy of the flow of information and the locals school education.(2)Socio-economic aspects:The migrant neglect their children’s education because of reality of income due to the excessive emphasis on education;Due to lack of discipline and guidance, academic performance of the children left behind is affected.(3)To a large extent, the socio-cultural factors, religious education, the traditional ideas and customs restricted the development of school education, especially for female education. Finally, based on the analysis of factors affect the development of Salar education in rural areas, the paper examines the interaction between modem education and traditional culture.I believe that modem edueation is to adapt to the development of modern society. In the minority areas with cultural diversity and economic backward,in order to adapt to the pace of development of modem society, the ethnic minorities accept the modern education. At the same time, due not to gain access to the reality of the survival, they use the inertia of the traditional culture to enter modem society.Local people rely on traditional industries to make a living.Since the regional differences, the background of the urban-rural divide and migrants’ interest are not the full range of solutions in modern society, the minority farmers still choose the traditional culture as a means to adapt to modem society. In this sense, the modem Education can not be done overnight. In the process of interaction between traditional culture and modern education, traditional culture will be developed and adapted selectively. |
