Analysis Of The Impact Of Education On Residents' Consumption Structure

Since the global financial crisis in 2008,China's export and investment growth has been weak.To enhance the contribution of consumption to economic growth is the current policy-oriented.The premise of promoting consumption is to promote domestic demand,while focusing on investment-driven in recent years results in mismatching of the demand-side and supply-side,which makes consumption growth not significant.In the period time of economic development,China has actively promoted the development of education,which promoted the popularity and the level of education.Because of the development of education,the illiteracy rate has been controlled at a very low level,and the per capita education period has increased with time.Combined with the above background,this paper uses the China Statistical Yearbook and the provincial statistical yearbook data to analyze the current situation of education and consumption structure in China.According to the data,there are regional inequality problems in China's education,the provinces are educated with different levels of growth rate.China's consumption structure exists urban-rural inequality,urban consumption is more diversified,enjoyable,rural consumption is more single,Survival.At the same time,there have been gabs of all kinds of consumption between urban and rural,and the gaps increase with time.Then,through the ELES model,this paper uses the CFPS to study the impact of education on the consumption structure.It is found that,except for the consumption of health care,the education level of family members has a significant positive impact on all kinds of consumer goods.For different types of consumption,the degree of education of the family is different.For example,education has the greatest impact on the consumption of educational,cultural and entertainment services,the least impact on food consumption,and the effect on health care consumption is not significant.In order to explain the influence of education on the consumption structure of residents,this paper introduces the structural equation to analyze the impact of education on consumption structure.The results show that different paths have different effects on different types of consumer goods,and have different characteristics in the path of educational consumption structure.Finally,this paper draws the conclusion according to the results of above research,combined with the background of our country to put forward the corresponding policy recommendations:(1)Increase the investment of education in the western region of China,promoting the fair of education;(2)Pay attention to the improvement of education quality,upgrading China's consumption structure;(3)Combine with the development of education,adjusting China's industrial structure.
