A Study Of Female Students Studying In Yunnan In Modern Times

This article takes the women studying abroad in Yunnan during the Republic of China as the research object,systematically summarized the basic outlook of Yunnan female students during the Republic of China in the first time,through the analysis of archival materials,periodicals and magazines,historical materials,local records and other historical materials.This article supplemented the contents of Yunnan women studying overseas.This paper explored the modern policy of studying abroad in Yunnan,the profile of female students studying abroad,the activities of female students studying abroad,as well as their contributions after returning home and so on,the following conclusions are drawn.The first,modern Yunnan government supported women to study abroad,but there was no system to formulate relevant policies.Second,the author has counted 78 female students,these women who studied abroad have the following characteristics:they were mostly between teens and twenties;they were mostly from northeastern Yunnan and central Yunnan;their family were in good condition;they had been educated before going abroad;the country they went abroad to study was mainly Japan,and then Europe and the United States;they were mostly professional medicine and educations.Third,The modern Yunnan women studying abroad were to actively participate in social activities,cared for home education and national affairs.Fourth,they returned home and made a contribution in the fields of Yunnan education,medicine and so on.Fifth,From the perspective of the women's studies,they not only changed their image,got the right to employment,political participation,but also improved their marriage and family life and social life.From the perspective of modernization,the modern Yunnan women who studying abroad had played a certain role in the modernization of Yunnan society.
