With the development of new curriculum reform,"Core literacy" has become an important goal of educating people."Regional cognition" is an important part of geographic core literacy,and also the basic idea and research method of geography.Map is the second language of geography.To cultivate students' map ability is an important way to implement regional cognition,and it is of great significance to cultivate geographic core quality in the process of geography teaching.The author through reading literature,on the basis of relevant theories and the research status of the map ability,with seven grade geography textbooks(part ii)as an example,using the method of literature review,questionnaire investigation and case analysis,etc.analyzed the map ability and regional cognitive ability requirements from the aspects of teaching materials;By investigating the learning situation of junior high school students,reveals the problems of junior high school students in the map ability,and puts forward the strategy of developing junior high school students' map ability from the aspects of teaching level,and supplemented by cases.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:Firstly,on the basis of relevant theories and the research status,analyzed the composition and distribution of map ability and regional cognition.Classify the 155 maps in the seven grade geography textbook(part ii),analyzed its characteristics,and further to analyze each kind of the corresponding map ability(reading ability,analyze ability,drawing ability,charting ability,etc.)and regional cognitive ability(cognition of regional location,cognition of regional characteristics,cognition of interregional relations,cognition of regional development).Secondly,investigated and analyzed the current situation of junior high school students' map ability.The survey included student questionnaires and teacher interviews.Based on the questionnaire,learn about the students' motivation of map learning,cognitive status of map teaching,regional cognition ability and map ability level.The interviews for teachers mainly focus on the current situation of teachers' map teaching,the problems,reasons and changing strategies of map learning in junior high school students.Survey results show that the main problems of students are as follows: The map ability is weak;Lack of the good map learning method;Regional cognitive ability needs to be improved and the difference between individuals is large,etc.There are limitations in teaching: The recognition of image function in textbook is fuzzy;Teaching strategies are more traditional,Diversified teaching methods need to be strengthened.etc.Thirdly,focus on the main problems in the survey,the author puts forward the strategy of map ability cultivation of the cognitive perspective for junior middle school students: Teachers should change the teaching concept and apply the map in life;Improve board drawing skills,pay attention to diversified teaching methods;Construct psychological map and cultivate regional position cognition;Comprehensive analysis of maps,form regional feature recognition;Compare and evaluate the map and develop the cognition of interregional relations;Solve problems,enhance the cognition of regional development.On the basis of teaching strategies,this paper puts forward three map teaching mode of the cognitive perspective: Problem guidance map teaching mode;Logical reasoning map teaching mode;Practical activity map teaching mode.Finally,start instructional Design around the teaching strategies and teaching models for reference.
