With continuous social progress,new requirements were raised in terms of comprehensive qualities in 21st century,and thus comes the core literacy.Core literacy is not only an essential quality but also a key ability to our students which was built to adapt their lifelong development and social development needs during corresponding educational process.More and more education experts become aware of the importance of core literacy in terms of student development and social progress.It is imperative to introduce core literacy into classes and infiltrate it into the curriculum reform in fundamental education which would both improve the national competitiveness and fit the developing trend of the world.In China,core literacy is the refinement and sublimation of three-dimensional goals.Different subjects should build its own core literacy based on each different discipline essence.The core literacy of physics are right values,essential qualities and key abilities that students could form gradually through learning physics.The core literacy of physics is divided into four main aspects including physical concepts,scientific thinking,scientific inquiries,scientism and scientific responsibilities in China.Starting to launch core literacy of physics in classroom teaching will contribute to consummate students' physical concepts and cultivate students' scientific thinking and scientific inquiry capabilities.This will help students to form a right scientism and scientific responsibilities to become the real talents we need in 21st century.We need to find out how to carry out physical core literacy teaching in high school to not only cultivate the core literacy of physics in high school students but also develop their lifelong learning abilities which would ensure strong competitiveness of our students and promote steady development of the society.That's the reason why it's quite meaningful and worth to do further investigation on finding out how to carry out physical core literacy teaching in high school.This article is divided into five parts:The first part will start with the development history of core literacy to further analyze the current research status of core literacy from both home and abroad and the theoretical framework of core literacy from major countries over the world to demonstrates the significance and feasibility of cultivating physical core literacy teaching in high school.The second part will elaborate the necessity of physical core literacy teaching in classes with clear understandings on the definition and connotation of physical core literacy under the guidance of specific education theories.The third part will focus on the existing problems our students have in the core literacy of physics.The author had done some pre-investigations among teachers and students from several high schools which directly under Yangzhou government to find out the current status on the core literacy of physics in high school students and further analyze the main reasons on imperfect development on physical core literacy.The fourth part will elaborate teaching strategies and cases on developing core literacy of physics based on survey analysis,classroom observation practice,communication with teachers and students,copious literatures which against the shortages in principle,concept,experimental and exercise classes.The fifth part will summarize the research of this topic and give the reflections on the existing problems in this study.
