Mathematical modeling,as one of the core qualities of mathematics,plays an important role in the development of students' basic qualities and abilities.In recent years,it has received extensive attention from people both at home and abroad.On the basis of the existing research,this paper does three researches:analyzing mathematical models involved in high school mathematics;surveying and understanding high school students' abilities in mathematical modeling and mathematical modeling;and exploring how to improve the mathematical modeling ability of high school students.Firstly,a literature research method was used to sort out the mathematical models involved in high school mathematics;to study mathematics modeling teaching and learning at home and abroad;to determine the standard for the level of mathematical modeling ability in this paper.Secondly,questionnaire survey of 230 senior high school students in Jiangsu and Henan provinces.From Questionnaire 1,students in High school first grade have narrow knowledge of mathematical modeling and have a single source of understanding.They mainly rely on others or teachers to inform that even a large number of students have never heard of mathematical modeling;high school students model mathematical models.Feelings are not deep,and the degree of emphasis is low.A considerable number of students have never participated in any work of mathematical modeling;High school students rarely use mathematical modeling methods and models to solve problems when solving problems;most of the students think that learning Mathematical modeling has a role.Mathematical modeling has an impact on creativity,solving math problems,cultivating divergent thinking and so on.It has little effect on mathematics learning.From Question 2:The level of modeling of high school students is not high(the average level is between level 1 and level 2);the level of mathematical modeling ability of boys is slightly higher than that of girls;The level of modeling ability of high-level students in key classes is higher than that of high-level students in parallel classes,and there are significant differences;at the same level,the level of mathematical modeling ability of Jiangsu students is significantly higher than that of Henan students;The level of mathematics modeling ability of high school students is not related to mathematics academic performance.Thirdly,using interviews to know more about student modeling,interviewing students with higher level of mathematical modeling ability and lower level of mathematical modeling ability,respectively,in order to study the level of mathematical modeling with a higher level of mathematical modeling.The difference between low and Higher levels of mathematical modeling capabilities include:frequent contact mathematics modeling,multiple approaches;solid mathematical basic knowledge,strong awareness of mathematical applications;love thinking,mathematics performance is not necessarily high,but knowledge is broad;knowledge is not limited Mathematical knowledge in textbooks.Finally,combined with individual teaching practices,the following suggestions are made for cultivating students' mathematical modeling capabilities:firstly,teachers should attach importance to training students' consciousness of mathematical modeling by combining with the teaching material;secondly,teachers themselves should improve their attainment of mathematical modeling;finally,schools should pay attention to mathematical modeling and suggestions about it.
