As an important bridge of human cultural heritage, education is essential for the protection of excellent folk culture. Hubei folk art, originating in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, is the treasure of traditional spiritual culture, which has distinctive regional characteristics, irreplaceable spirit value and unique aesthetic form.In the process of fine arts teaching in elementary school, study of traditional art of Hubei Province is helpful to develop the students’ ability of aesthetic consciousness and fine art, and is also beneficial to disseminate the colorful Jingchu culture, which is essential for promoting full implementation of quality education and orientating reforms and innovations.In 2012, the Huangpi clay sculpture was certified as non-material cultural heritage of Hubei Province. Combining the development of this folk art resources with the elementary school fine arts education might be helpful to inherit and develop the folk art. However, how to integrate these together effectively needs investigation. Focusing on elementary school fine arts education as the research object, the thesis explores the application of the Huangpi clay sculpture in the elementary school fine arts teaching, with the means of theoretical exploration, investigation and analysis, teaching practice and so on.The full text includes five parts.In the first chapter, the origin, purpose, research status and research methods are described comprehensively. In the second chapter, the characteristics of the Huangpei clay sculpture artistic folk culture are analyzed, and how to integrate it into relevant teaching resources is discussed as well.In the third chapter, the present situation of elementary school fine arts education is analyzed by means of questionnaire survey, in order to further explore the situation and problems of elementary school teaching with Huangpi clay sculpture, which may lay a solid foundation for the teaching practice in elementary school fine arts.The fourth chapter explores problems and advantages of the Huangpi clay sculpture teaching in the elementary school using the method of specific teaching practice.The summary section of the thesis sums up the research of the Huangpi clay sculpture art resources, its application in elementary school fine arts teaching, as well as the development pattern of local resources in the elementary school fine arts education.
