As the oldest organization for women in the United States,the American Association of University Women has a considerable impact in the United States.At the beginning of its establishment,it aimed at supporting female higher education.Although in the later development,the research subjects expanded from women's higher education to women's and girls' education(including primary and secondary schools),and the fields of research broke through the education sector.But the higher education for women is still the focus of the American Association of University Women.This research chooses the typical report on female higher education of the American Association of University Women from 1881 to 2010 as the research object and adopts the methods of historical research,literature analysis and comparative research to analyze the content and the feature of the exploration on the woman's higher education of the American Association of University Women.This paper is divided into following parts:The introduction mainly introduces the reasons for the selection of the topic,the research status of the subject at home and abroad,the definition of concepts involved in the research,the research methods adopted in this study and the value of the research.The first chapter mainly introduces the American Association of University Women which was established due to the development of American female higher education,the culture of famous city Boston and the personal educational experience of the founders.The organization experienced the initial Association of Collegiate Alumnae,the Western Association of Collegiate Alumnae,and the Southern Association of College Women,eventually they joint American Association of University Women.And its member structure has been concretely elaborated.On this basis,the reader can have a preliminary understanding of American Association of University Women.The second chapter mainly elaborates the development of American college women in 1881-1884,which laid the foundation for the development of education..The exploration of this period mainly focuses on the investigation of female health,in order to break the fallacy that"higher education is detrimental to women's health",which provides the physiological basis for the development of female higher education.In this research,women's health is further consolidated by making suggestions to parents and institutions.The third chapter mainly elaborates the fair opportunity of the American college women's association to pursue the women's higher education in 1 885-1970.The exploration of this stage is mainly carried out by ordinary education and postgraduate education.Ordinary education focuses on class discussion,which also marks the organization on track on the study of women's higher education.And the research of the postgraduate education shows that the the focus of the Association of University Women has been expanded from ordinary education to the postgraduate education.The fourth chapter mainly elaborates the comprehensive development of women's higher education in the United States from 1971 to 2010.The exploration starts on the Standards for Women in Higher Education and mainly focuses on women's online education and STEM education---the specific areas of education.Researches analyze women's current situation and problems in these fields,and makes concrete suggestions.The further exploration of female higher education is a further deepening of the research conducted by the American Association of University Women,linking continuing education with higher education and promoting the all-round development of women in higher education.The conclusion is mainly based on the contents of the above four chapters.It summarizes the reasons for the continuous development of the American Association of University Women and the characteristics of the exploration on the female higher education.
