Self-control is an important part of self-awareness,which is defined as a person's intrinsic reaction to surpass or change and the tendency to interrupt unwanted behavior(e.g.,impulse)and refrain from actions,so as to manage to achieve their goals. In modem society, many students suffer from academic procrastination due to mobile phones.According to researchers at home and abroad,self-control failure is a relatively a common form of procrastination.Procrastination brings mood disturbance, low well-being and the self-frustration,so that more importance of self-control increase. Moreover, high school students are in a special period of physical and psychological growth, which is also the key period of their development. The physical and mental development of middle school students can often affect their future life.Under the increasingly fierce competition and the heavy pressure of college entrance examination, the middle school students appear more psychological problems accordingly, and the adolescent middle school students are prone to receive positive or negative influence from adult society.Imperfect level of self-control can produce a physical and mental response to these mixed events, which can also affect their well-being.Although it is important to study the relationship between self-control and well-being in high school students, there are still some problems in previous studies.Firstly, although well-being can be divided into hedonic well-being(the pursuit of happiness to avoid pain)and eudaimonic well-being(the pursuit of meaning and self-realization),the relationship between self-control and hedonic well-being and eudaimonic well-being in senior high school students is unclear.Secondly, the mechanism of them is unclear.Based on Self-Determination Theory, this study took self-control as independent variable, hedonic and eudaimonic well-being as dependent variables, basic psychological need as mediating variable to explore the relationship among them. Thus,it could be better to explore the relationship between self-control and well-being,then to provide empirical evidence for the mental health education practice of high school students. In this study, the students of grade one to three in Xi'an were selected as samples(total number of 763 students).Through the form of questionnaire survey, the self-control,hedonic and eudaimonic well-being,basic psychological needs, etc.of senior high school students were investigated.Descriptive statistics analysis, analysis of variance, hierarchical multiple regression and other statistical methods were used and presented the following conclusions:1.Self-control and eudaimonic well-being,the negative affect dimension of hedonic well-being,thebasic psychological needs and its autonomy and competence dimensions are positively related.2.The basic psychological needs and these three dimensions on the influence of self-control on hedonic well-being's moderating effect are not significant.3.Basic psychological needs play a significant role in the moderating effect of self-control on eudaimonic well-being,and the two dimensions of competence need and autonomy need's moderating effect are also significant.
