The "Tacitus Trap" Of Local Government Statistics And Its Avoidance

Government statistics,is the "barometer" to socioeconomic development,the "information bank" of respondents,and also the "decision-making staff" of government.With the developing of society,the public is paying more attention to government statistics.However,the government statistics is inevitably being questioned.As the new economic normality of "adjust structure " and "steady growth",the construction of statistical credibility is facing a new test.Because of local government statistics is the key to balance the relationship between national level and grass-roots unit,the research on credibility of local government statistics has a significant research value.Studying of literatures about the credibility of government statistics,I find that foreign researches focus on technical methods.However,domestic researches prefer government credibility to government statistical credibility.Because of that,we need more holistic analyses.This study starts with the "Tacitus trap" of local government statistical credibility.Analysing the credibility situation of government statistics of D city by means of questionnaire.From a holistic perspective,we can find causes of credibility issues of local government statistics,by analysing the statistical system and data production process.The last part of the study is trying to find effective ways to enhance the credibility of local government statistics.Combining with foreign experiences in this field,we can have a try to optimizing the system of government statistics,promoting differential assessment,innovating technology and methods,promoting information disclosure.
