Educational punishment is a relatively sensitive vocabulary in schools,which results in a situation that teachers normally do not talk about punishment.In fact,educational punishment exists in schools education and in the media reports.Therefore,this paper uses qualitative research methods to study the current situation of educational punishment in Class A of G primary school in countryside.The method of participatory observation was applied to recording the real situation of educational punishment existing in Class A,and the method of auxiliary interview was used to investigate the punisher and the object of punishment and discuss the different consequences and possible reasons of educational punishment in Class A,in order to provide advice and reference for the reasonable implementation of educational punishment in Class A.This research is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly summarizes the starting point of this research,core concepts and literature review,and then present the design and train of thought of this research,as well as the process of the research in Class A.The second part presents the real educational punishment in Class A.Combined with the existing researches and studentsdifferent perception of the punishment,the educational punishment in Class A is classified into three types:the first type is“the touching the surface" punishment,which includes verbal cues and criticism punishment;the second one is“the deprival of rights " punishment,which means to deprive students of some rights,such as standing,detention,deduction,deduction and seat adjustment and canceling the red flag of the class,so that students enable to correct their misbehaviors;the third type is" making up for mistakes" punishment,which refers to the students making up for their mistakes or misbehaviors through finishing some other tasks,such as penalty of duplicating,running,working and writing a review.The third part presents the different effects of diverse forms of punishment on students in Class A.There is a positive effect to warn all students,so that students can correct their misbehaviors and self-reflect;however,punishment has many negative effects,such as the conflict between implicit and explicit education,students' psychological contradictions due to poor academic performance,the trust crisis between teachers and students,the sense of privilege among students,class disunity.The fourth part summarizes the three main reasons of the above punishment.The first reason concerns with students themselves and their family,including the failure of students' school performance and the absence of parents' roles.The second reason relates to teachers' responsibility,including the lack of educational wisdom and communication with students,heavy work tasks,stereotypes of students,teachers' emotional reaction and so on.The last reason concerns with school education and the society,for instance.the lack of educational legislation and relevant rules and regulations of the school,the disciplined education and the impact of rural cultural changes on education.The fifth part of this paper is reflection and conclusion.According to the influence and causes of educational punishment in Class A,the researcher has made a reflection and a summary with several suggestions for students and family level,teacher and school education level respectively.For students and family level,students should be guided to improve their effective learning ability,and the communication between family and school should be enhanced to create a harmonious learning and living environment for students.As to the level of teachers,the attention should be focused on the consistency of implicit and explicit education and the relevance of the object of punishment and the type of punishment;moreover,the communication between teachers and students should be improved to build a mutual understanding between them;at last,teachers should learn to not only manage their own emotions well,but also help students manage their own emotions well.As to the level of school education,it should implement the rules and regulations,improve teacher evaluation mechanism and provide legal basis for punishment in education.
