At present,the operating conditions of rural boarding schools and low-performing schools have been improved obviously as a result of increasingly better education policy,much more investments in education,and the construction of safeguard mechanism for financing of compulsory education from government.With the basic balance of resource in county region,the principal contradiction and mission of balanced development in compulsory education have transferred to a new stage that the improvement of educational quality and diversified development of schools are the main concerns.The main developmental pattern of education nowadays,however,is to stress on governmental external drive,identical development,financing investment,and hardware improvement,which is not suitable to the practical requirements of balanced development in compulsory education.Therefore,schools must realize self-driven development and pay attention to the connotation of development and diversified development to achieve the target in the new stage.In view of this,the paper,based on the view of Mr.Tao Xingzhi's life education theory,is aimed to help rural schools find out a way of education with their own tastes and characteristics taking a remote rural boarding school in author's hometown as a research case.Life education theory is advocated by Tao Xingzhi's during the wartime in early 20th century.It contains the universal education,lifelong education and comprehensive education,pays attention to the heart,hands and brain education,and combines the education of classroom education and social activities,still exerting an influence on our modern education.On the basis of predecessors' research on rural boarding schools,this study takes S school in Pucheng county,Shaanxi Province as the research object by using the combined methods of field observation and interview.The investigation shows the current situation of student management in S school,reveals its existing problems,analyzes the reasons,and puts forward relevant solutions and suggestions.It is hoped that these solutions and suggestions will be provided with reference value for other rural boarding schools in Pucheng county so that they can develop better.The research found that there are many problems in the students management of S school:the construction of the school system is not perfect,which leads to teachers'casual attitude toward work;students lack study motivation and enthusiasm;school security management is incomplete;the school culture atmosphere is not strong,so there is no attraction and cohesion for students;the teaching contents are limited to the textbook and school can not make full use of the library and education resources around the school to expand the students' horizon;the extracurricular activities are monotonous without a unified management plan.For effective management of rural boarding school students,it not only needs school leaders' guidance,also needs to mobilize the participation of all the teachers and students to realize the goal together.In the past,the research mainly discussed how to improve the quality of rural boarding schools from the perspectives of policy inclination,financing support and teachers allocation,while this paper focuses on exploring human potential from the perspective of human beings,rationally configuring and utilizing existing resources to do good education.Through the literature research,I found that Yu Cai Middle School in Chongqing and Sichuan Langzhong boarding schools in rural areas are under the guidance of theory of life education building schools with great taste which attract the students,ease the parents and retain teachers.These schools have captured the essence of education by fully encouraging the students and promoting the all-round development of students.As Tao Xingzhi advocated that we can still set a wonderful model of education with the least amount of funds.
