Yang Xianjiang was one of the pioneering Marxist education theorists as well as one of the leaders of youth movements,one devoted communism fighter in the earliest period of revolutionary China.He has committed himself to the spread of Marxism education theories,and he was the first one to apply the principles of Marxism to education theories.The conception of "whole-life guidance" was a new education theory he proposed during the procedure of his long-term work of education management and guiding the youth movements,referring to the problems of school education and the realistic needs of young students at that time,founded on the theory of "the comprehensive development of man" of Marxism and learning from various outstanding education theories of ancient and current times,in China or overseas.This theory takes the young students as the object of education,always focusing upon the key content of demanding the youth to set up correct life values,adopting flexible and versatile methods to guide the students to have a healthy,diligent,cultural and citizen life to cultivate the crucial qualifications in morals,intelligence,sports,aesthetics and labor,etc of "perfected personality" of the young students and realize the comprehensive development of individual juvenile students.The theory has the features of class consciousness,scientific-ness and comprehensiveness,etc.and it is one of the impotant theoretic fruits in sinicization of Marxism education theories,and one crucial theory source of Chinese essential-qualities-oriented schooling.Till now,it still sparkles with the light of ideas,full of vitality and vigor and providing crucial effect of inspiration.This paper follows the guidance of Marxism and sort out the formation process of the theory of "whole-life guidance" using the methodology of historical materialism;and mainly adopting the method of textual analysis,the basic contents of the theory is systematically and thoroughly summarized.A review of the basic features,historic significance and current values of this theory from the perspective of ideological and political education has been implemented to learn the suggestion functions of this theory on our current ideological and political education in current higher education and to bring new nutrition as well. |
