Based on the new "curriculum standard" concept in the current new curriculum reform,the author focuses on the importance of mathematical symbol awareness in international mathematics education,and firmly pays attention to the basic concept of student development.Mathematical symbol awareness plays an indispensable role in students' mathematical learning stage.Cultivating students' mathematical symbol awareness helps them accurately grasp the relationship between quantities,understand the characteristics of mathematical symbols by solving practical problems,and then understand and master them.In this process,it not only cultivates students' sense of Numbers,but also develops their logical thinking.Meanwhile,it pays attention to students' emotional needs and enables them to experience the secret of mathematics.This study based on the ten core of mathematics accomplishment and consciousness of curriculum reform demands the selected symbol as the research direction,through consulting a large number of documents to determine the content of this research for primary school students' consciousness of mathematical symbol for five years,and on the basis of domestic and foreign related research to define the key concepts in this study,combing symbol connotation,types and performance of consciousness.Secondly,by referring to the research results of scholars in related fields and using the interview method,the three explicit dimensions of mathematical symbol consciousness in this study are determined,which are symbol perception and understanding,symbol representation and operation,symbol abstraction and reasoning.Then,the frequency and distribution of mathematical symbols in the textbooks of Beijing normal university and renmin university were sorted out and compared,and the test questions of students' symbol consciousness development were compiled from three dimensions.The test questions were divided into trial test and positive test.In order to ensure that the collected data are scientific and universal,the fifth grade students from three different level schools are selected as the research objects according to the actual situation.Finally,based on the previous theoretical research,SPSS17.0 data analysis software were used to analyze the students' answer situation,and then the problems in the development process of the three dimensions of students' symbol consciousness were summarized by the interview method,and the corresponding cultivation strategies were proposed for the problems in each dimension.Based on the main line of discovering,analyzing and solving problems,this paper tries to find out the problems in the development of students' sign consciousness in primary school,investigate the reasons and put forward practical training strategies.At the same time,the author hopes that more scholars and teachers pay attention to this problem in research and teaching.
