Logic is closely related to language.Logic is the basis of language and language is the expression of logic.The correct and smooth expression of language is inseparable from the flexible use of logical thinking.Thus,language learning is inseparable from the cultivation of logical thinking.Generally speaking,language is the combination of oral language and written language.Language learning is an important part of language learning activities.Therefore,it is particularly important for language teachers to develop and improve students’logical thinking in the process of language teaching.Reading teaching plays an important role in the whole process of Chinese teaching.Therefore,reading teaching has become an important and key way to cultivate students’logical thinking ability.I made an on-site investigation and visit to Xinhua Middle School in Xinhua City,and found that the students’awareness of developing their own logical thinking in reading learning is not strong,and the teachers’ awareness of promoting their own logical thinking is weak.Therefore,the author analyzed and summarized the reasons for the absence of students’logical thinking ability in reading teaching,and then put forward solutions.This paper will be composed of the following parts.Part Ⅰ:Introduction.This paper probes into the relevant theoretical basis of logical thinking in reading teaching,and profoundly puts forward the important practical significance of the cultivation of logical thinking ability for students’reading learning.The second part is an overview of the forms and methods of logical thinking in the teaching of Chinese reading in senior high schools.The specific presentations of "concept","judgment","reasoning" and "analysis and synthesis","abstraction and generalization","comparison and classification" in the teaching of reading are elaborated respectively.The third part:The investigation of the cultivation of students’logical thinking ability in the Chinese reading teaching of Yangzhou Xinhua Middle School,and lists the detailed investigation report.Part Ⅳ:To analyze the reasons for the problems of students’logical thinking ability in the teaching of Chinese reading in Yangzhou Xinhua Middle School.The author summarizes three reasons for this:first,the students’awareness of improving logical thinking ability in reading is relatively weak;second,the teaching process of reading despises the training of logical thinking methods;third,the evaluation of reading teaching neglects the evaluation of logical thinking.The fifth part:According to the reasons listed in the fourth part,from the two aspects of students and teachers,it puts forward specific solutions:enhancing the logical thinking consciousness in reading learning and teaching;strengthening the training of logical thinking in high school Chinese reading teaching;and improving the evaluation of logical thinking in high school Chinese reading teaching.The ultimate purpose of this study is to find effective strategies for the development of students’logical thinking ability in the Chinese reading teaching of Yangzhou Xinhua Middle School by investigating and studying the development of students’ logical thinking ability in the Chinese reading teaching of Yangzhou Xinhua Middle School,so as to improve students’logical thinking ability in the reading learning of Yangzhou Xinhua Middle School.
