As an important carrier of curriculum content,textbooks have always been highly valued by the education of various countries.The developed countries,represented by the United States,have much to learn from in the compilation of textbooks.The full text consists of the following six parts.The first part is the introduction of this paper,mainly introduces the purpose and significance of this paper;Research review(research status at home and abroad);Research contents,methods and steps;Interpretation of related concepts;Innovation.The first chapter is an overview of the history teaching in American middle schools,mainly introducing the American school system,American history curriculum and American school textbook system.The second chapter is about the structure of the Prentice Hall history textbook in2013.It introduces the compilation structure of the textbook from three aspects: the compilation style of the Prentice Hall history textbook,the overall structure of the textbook and the contents of the textbook.The third chapter analyzes the characteristics of Prentice Hall's world history textbook.The main features of the world history textbook in hall's edition are as follows: making full use of the Internet;History and land are closely connected;Detailed and consistent curriculum standards;The auxiliary columns are set in various forms.The appendix system is rich in content.The fourth chapter takes Prentice Hall history textbook as an example to analyze its historical expression of the great French revolution from three aspects: background,process and result.The fifth chapter analyzes the enlightenment of Prentice Hall's world history to the compilation of Chinese textbooks.On the basis of the full analysis of the whole book,based on the characteristics of the textbook,the following enlightenment for the compilation of Chinese textbooks is obtained: strengthening the development of network teaching resources;Strengthening the combination of history and geography in domestic textbooks;Strengthening the position of curriculum standards in text books;Enrich the forms of auxiliary columns in history textbooks;Strengthen the guidance to the students;Attach great importance to the design of appendix system.
