Malaysia has the most complete Chinese education system besides China.Under the education system of the Mandarin language, the academic status of Chinese ethnic students has attracted extensive attention of researchers, while the research on non-Chinese ethnic students is insufficient. In view of this situation, this paper takes SJK(C)YUK YIN,KENINGAU as the research object, and takes the Chinese academic status of non-Chinese ethnic students as the research question. The paper want to find out whether the teaching mode, teaching materials, teaching concept and family environment influences non-Chinese ethnic students in SJK(C)YUK YIN,KENINGAU according to the database powered by college of International Education in Minzu University of China. The study about the Mandarin language education process shows that there is a big difference between the Chinese ethnic students and the non-Chinese ethnic students in SJK(C)YUK YIN,and the Chinese comprehension ability is a little bit better than their Chinese writing ability.Non-Chinese ethnic students have insufficient internal motivation and most of them feel difficult to maintain their learning enthusiasm, showing an inverted "U" distribution. The students'extracurricular learning time is positively correlated with their academic performance, which is reflected that the longer they study independently after class, the more progress they made. However, the average extracurricular learning time of non-Chinese ethnic students is significantly lower than that of Chinese ethnic students. The study also found that the serious shortage of teachers, inappropriate teaching modes and unfavorable external language environment are all have an important impact on the academic performance of non-Chinese ethnic students.Based on the data and the feedback from the school, this paper put forward some suggestions to improve the Mandarin language academic performance among the Non-Chinese ethnic students in SJK(C)YUK YIN.The immersion teaching mode is suitable for the students in foundation year. The researcher hopes that this paper will make contribution to the development of SJK(C)YUK YIN and cope with the increasing number of non-Chinese ethnic students and then alleviate the problem of poor academic performance.
