OBJECTIVE:With the rapid development of social economy,people's life rhythm is obviously accelerated,the sleep quality of college students is getting worse and worse,and the level of physical activity is gradually declining.In order to understand the current situation of College Students'physical activity and sleep quality,analyze the differences between physical activity and sleep quality of college students with different characteristics,further study the relationship between physical activity and sleep quality of College students,and put forward some effective opinions and suggestions to improve the level of physical activity and sleep quality of College students.Thus,it can promote the development of College Students'physical and mental health,improve their health level,and comprehensively improve their health literacy.It has important reference value for college students to formulate more effective sports prescriptions.METHODS:This research adopts the methods of documentation,questionnaire and mathematical statistics,and adopts the method of convenient sampling to select freshmen and juniors of non-sports majors from NNU,CUMT and Nanjing Polytechnic of Industry as the subjects of investigation.With the long volume of International Physical Activity Questionnaire(Chinese version)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)as survey tools,2039 valid samples were obtained.Using independent sample T test and single factor analysis of variance,the differences of sleep quality between college students with different demographic characteristics were analyzed;Mann-Whitney test and Kruskal-Wallis test were used to analyze the differences between college students with different demographic characteristics and physical activity;and stratified multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between physical activity and sleep quality.RESULT:1)The average PSQI score of college students was 5.86,and 26.5%of the total students had poor sleep quality.There were significant differences in the total PSQI scores of college students with different gender and family economic status(P<0.01).There were no differences in the total PSQI scores of college students with different majors,grades and household registration types(P>0.05).2)The average amount of energy expenditure per week for physical activity of college students is 2883.84 MET-mins/week.The students with insufficient physical activity per week accounted for 24.7%of the total number There were significant differences in the total amount of physical activity among students of different genders(P<0.01).There were differences in the total amount of physical activity among students of different grades and household registration types(P<0.05).There were no differences in the total amount of physical activity among students of different majors and family economic conditions(P>0.05).The average daily sitting time of college students was 6.64 hours a week,with different genders and majors.There were significant differences in the average daily meditation time of students of grade and household registration type in one week(P<0.01).There were differences in the average daily meditation time of students of different family economic status in one week(P<0.05).3)The total PSQI score of the students with insufficient physical activity was higher than that of the students with active physical activity and general physical activity(P<0.01).There was no difference in the total PSQI score between the students with general physical activity and active physical activity(P<0.05).4)There was a significant correlation between total leisure activity and sleep quality(B=-0.04,P<0.05),average daily sitting time(B=0.11,P<0.01),total moderate intensity activity(B=-0.06,P<0.01),total high intensity activity(B=-0.07,P<0.01)and total PSQI score.CONCLUSION:1)There are significant differences in sleep quality between male students and female students in different family economic conditions.The sleep quality of male students is better than that of female students,and the sleep quality of students with family economic status preference is higher.2)There are significant differences in the total amount of physical activity in gender,urban and rural areas and grades,showing that boys are larger than girls;rural students are larger than urban students;third grade is the highest,and second grade is the lowest.Gender,grade,major,urban and rural areas,and family economic status have significant differences in the daily sitting time of College students.3)Different levels of physical activity have different effects on sleep quality.The sleep quality of students with active physical activity and general students is better than that of students with insufficient physical activity,but there is no significant difference between students with active physical activity and general students.4)Long-time meditation can lead to a decline in sleep quality,and a certain amount of moderate to high intensity physical activity can help to improve sleep quality.
