Research purposes: In this study to understand college students sleep quality,physical activity and depression status quo,on the basis of further explore the relationship among,inspection physical activity on sleep quality effects on depression in whether there is a significant intermediary role,and pointed out that the role of the size of the purport for college students to relieve depression,improve sleep quality,and increasing physical activity to provide theoretical reference.Research methods: In this study,literature,questionnaire,mathematical statistics and other research methods were adopted.With the help of survey tools such as International Physical Activity Scale,Self-Rating Depression Scale,and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale,Excel,SPSS26.0 and other relevant statistical software were used to process the collected information:The independent sample t-test,one-way analysis of variance and LSD multiple comparison were used to analyze the scores of each scale in different demographic characteristics.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the scores of various scales of college students.Stepwise regression was used to examine the mediating effect of physical activity on sleep quality and depression.Results :(1)The average score of the sleep quality scale for college students was 4.53±2.24 points,and the proportion of people with sleep quality problems was 9.39%;The average physical activity of college students was 3169.30±1968.24 met-minutes /week;The average score of college students’ self-rating depression scale was 49.38±4.90 points,and the proportion of college students with depression as depression was 21.15%.(2)There were significant differences in sex,parents’ marital status,smoking and drinking(all P <0.05).There were significant differences in the amount of physical activity in sex,smoking and drinking(all P < 0.01).There were significant differences in depressive mood among only child,parents’ educational background and alcohol consumption(all P < 0.05).(3)The results of Person correlation analysis showed that there was a significant negative correlation between college students’ sleep quality and physical activity(r=-0.77,P < 0.01).There was a significant negative correlation between physical activity and depression(r=-0.69,P <0.01).There was a significant positive correlation between sleep quality and depression(r=0.73,P < 0.01).(4)The amount of physical activity played a partial mediating role in the relationship between sleep quality and depression,and the mediating effect was 0.24.Research conclusions:(1)There was a significant positive correlation between sleep quality and depressive mood.The better the sleep quality,the lower the depressive mood.The sleep quality of college students is significantly negatively correlated with the amount of physical activity.The better the sleep quality of college students,the higher the level of physical activity.The physical activity level of college students is significantly negatively correlated with depression,the higher the physical activity level of college students,the lower the degree of depression;(2)This study confirmed that the amount of physical activity played a partial mediating role in the relationship between sleep quality and depression,with a mediating effect size of 0.24.In other words,it can improve the sleep quality and depression mood of college students by increasing the amount of physical activity,so as to promote the physical and mental health development of college students.
