With the development of the concept of "child-centered",children’s records,as the "witness" of children’s learning and development, have received extensive attention and support from kindergartens and teachers. This study centers on the records of large class children, adopts case study method, chooses large S class of a demonstration kindergarten in Jiangsu Province as the research object, through long-term observation,in-depth interviews and collection of relevant records, comprehensively and deeply explores the current situation of record activities in the case, analyzes its current problems and puts forward corresponding suggestions. This study mainly uses NVivo qualitative research tools, starting from the two dimensions of recording form and content,to make a deep description of 104 children’s records collected in large classes. It is found that from the point of view of record form,we can not only present the structure of children’s records in an all-round way from two clues of time and space, but also interpret the manifestation of children’s records from two aspects of concrete representation and abstract representation. At the same time, the preschool records have a wide range of representational meanings, including children’s cognitive development, motor skills development, emotional development, aesthetic development and social development.Through the above general description,it is found that S class in T Garden has accumulated many beneficial experiences in the development of children’s record-keeping activities, but there are still some problems:first, there are abundant single records and insufficient long-term continuous records;second, there are abundant records in games, learning and sports situations, and insufficient records in life situations;third, there are abundant personal records, group and collective records.Fourthly, there are abundant representations and insufficient abstract representations in the records.Fifthly, there is a low proportion of the records that put forward the orientation of the problem and need to be improved.Based on the analysis of the above problems from the aspects of teachers and children, the study tries to make suggestions from enriching the representation methods and significance of children’s records.Teachers need not only to set up ideas and become promoters of children’s records, but also to implement them well and become supporters of enriching children’s records.Specifically, teachers need to establish a dynamic concept to make records a continuous process of activity;establish a life concept to infiltrate records into children’s daily life;establish a holistic concept to give full play to the substantive significance of collective records;establish a creative concept to encourage the creation of abstract representation of children;establish a problem concept to encourage children.Children find problems and record them.herefore, this study begins with the attention and interpretation of records and ends with the support and development of children. On the basis of this,it is hoped that it can provide some thoughts and enlightenment for front-line teachers to better carry out record activities, interpret record works more referentially, and promote children’s recording and learning and development more scientifically and effectively.
