The rise of China to become the second largest economy in the world within the four decades is related to the increasing number of studying Chinese as a foreign language in Thailand.There are many schools in the whole nation offering Chinese language and therefore it has been propelling forward.As a result,the relevant researches on teaching methods,the textbooks applied in Chinese classes are gradually focusing on the education field.This study will be based on the actual use of Chinese teaching materials in Satree Phuket School,Phuketwittayalai School and the Phuket Srinagarindra the Princess Mother School,where are the top majority of high school in Phuket province,Thailand.The methodology in this study was class observation,questionnaires,and interview.This thesis tries to find out the lacks of the existing textbooks from the perspective of teachers and students,and to put forward some feasible suggestions for improvement.The thesis is mainly divided into five chapters.The first chapter is introduction on the research background,research significance,research status,and research innovation.The second chapter is the research design,respectively demonstrating relevant conditions of the above three schools,the current state of the target textbooks,together with the purpose as well as the methods of this study.The third chapter are surveying and analyzing on the applied textbooks in the target high schools from the angel of teachers.The fourth chapter is the analysis of survey and the applied textbooks in target high schools from the angel of students.The last chapter is the conclusion,which mainly states the findings from this research and the suggestion for the improvement.The findings indicate that there are four problems of Chinese textbooks existing in Thailand.First,there is no certified textbooks that are agreed by any official education department in Thailand,which leads to inefficient management and ineffective learning.Second,the content of the textbook does not align with Thai's circumstances which cause their loss between the knowledge of the textbooks and the students'life.Third,monotonous practice does not accord with Thailand education wisdom of teaching.Last but not least,having to buy textbooks which are mostly imported from China,which are indeed expensive and scarce.According to these facts,the author puts forward some suggestions on the compilation of its native textbooks.
