In recent years,Chinese teaching in Thailand has developed rapidly.Not only higher education schools set up Chinese classes,but also elementary schools have begun to set up Chinese classes.However,there are many problems have been exposed in the rapid development of Chinese teaching,such as unobvious teaching effect,lack of teachers and unbalanced development of Chinese among different regions.As a volunteer teacher for Chinese teaching in Thailand,during the process of teaching,I found that the development of Chinese teaching in the northeastern Thailand,where exist some problems such as nonstandard and unified textbooks,and some teachers even do not have textbooks and have to compile textbooks by themselves.As one of the three elements of teaching,textbooks play an important role in teaching activities.Textbooks quality directly affects teachers' teaching and students' learning.One of the reasons for the slow development of Chinese teaching in northeastern Thailand is the poor use of textbooks.According to this situation,the writer used questionnaires to investigate the using situation of Chinese textbooks in public schools in northeastern Thailand.Starting from the questionnaire survey,the writer analyzed the specific use of publishing textbooks,self-compiled textbooks and self-designed teaching contents in northeastern Thailand.And on the basis of this,the writer put forward some feasible suggestions on the compilation,selection and use of the textbooks in order to improve the pertinence of the native Chinese textbooks in Thailand and make the Chinese textbooks more suitable for the teaching environment and students' Chinese in Thailand.This paper is divided into six parts.The introduction part mainly introduces the background and significance of the topic selection,and expounds the research object and method.By collecting and consulting relevant literature,it analyses and explained the current situation of TCFL textbooks on the basis of classification and generalization of literature content.The first part briefly introduced the basic situation of Chinese teaching in northeastern Thailand from three aspects: the general situation of the region,the development of Chinese language and the use of teaching materials.The second part adopted questionnaire survey and took volunteer teachers of public schools in northeastern Thailand as respondents to investigate the development situation of Chinese teaching and use condition of Chinese textbooks in this region.The third part took specific textbooks as analysis objects.On the basis of questionnaire results,this part analyzed the use of three different types of Chinese textbooks in detail,and it elaborated the advantages and disadvantages of the use of different types of Chinese textbooks.From the perspectives of textbook compilers,textbook users,Hanban and competent departments of Ministry of Education,the fourth part propounded feasible suggestions on the localization promotion of Chinese textbooks in Thailand according to the problems in using different Chinese textbooks and survey feedback.The conclusion part summarized the reasons that effect the development of Thai Chinese textbooks and pointed out shortcomings of this paper.
