The implementation of the national innovation-oriented talents development strategy makes people feel the importance of scientific and technological innovation talents for the future development of the country.In the 21st century,students' core quality requires them to have the knowledge and skills to adapt to social development.STEM education is put forward to cope with the talent development strategy.Combining with the characteristics of China's basic education stage,Chinese scholars have done a lot of practical work in studying how to localize STEM education.However,to truly realize the localization of STEM education in China,we must proceed from China's national conditions.The time value and educational value of excellent traditional Chinese culture itself have important guiding significance for early childhood STEM education.The STEM project integrated into traditional culture in early childhood can not only improve children's high-order thinking ability,but also improve their national cultural identity and establish cultural self-confidence in early childhood.In this paper,literature analysis method,field observation method and case analysis method are used to summarize the research ideas and experience of other scholars in this field on the basis of existing theories and domestic and foreign research reviews.Related researches on early childhood STEM education mainly include three aspects:the connotation and problems of early childhood STEM education and the significance of integrating traditional culture into early childhood STEM education.Based on the characteristics of project learning and existing project learning elements,the process of early childhood STEM project learning was designed,including six major elements:goal,theme,higher-order cognitive strategy,learning practice,product materialization and evaluation.Subsequently,the author made a detailed analysis of the establishment of early childhood STEM project goals integrated into traditional culture,the significance of theme selection,evaluation criteria of product materialization,and evaluation methods and principles.Based on the above research,the author designed the "puppet show" as the theme of STEM project case,be divided into three classes,and it is concluded that the effect of case:children's cooperation consciousness and exploring consciousness enhancement,and puts forward four improvements for project case,respectively is:the training of young children's fine motor development;Pay attention to the generation needs of children;Promote the coordinated development of children's autonomy and rule consciousness and attach importance to the scientific concept of children.In the research conclusion,the author analyzed the innovation points and shortcomings of this research,and proposed the solution strategies of integrating traditional culture into children's STEM project in view of the above research,which were introduced with real situation as the activity,took project learning as the activity form,took traditional culture as the activity theme,and supplemented with home co-parenting as the activity.
