It is universally acknowledged that physics is one of the most difficult subjects in high school. For ethnic minority students in ethnic areas, physics is even more difficult, for example, the average score of physics exam of Tibetan students is only a dozen points in College Entrance Examination. The study found that Tibetan students in Tibet have a dual language barrier when learning physics, which is the Tibetan-Chinese-physical language conversion barriers. For a large number of physics teachers who speak Chinese in Tibet, how to overcome the language barriers and help students learn physics by understanding Tibetan traditional culture and using familiar examples to explain physical concepts and laws is a meaningful work.By excavating Tibetan traditional culture and related elements in Tibetan daily life, this paper attempted to do the secondary development of high school physics textbooks, organically combining Tibetan culture and physics knowledge, and developed some teaching resources which are more suitable for local students.Speaking of which, first,on the basis of ordinary high school physics teaching materials of People's Education Press, taking the regional characteristics and student characteristics of the ethnic areas into consideration,we developed the teaching courseware applicable for Tibetan students;second,we make full use of resources in ethnic minority areas and design tests containing elements of Tibetan culture, including classroom examples and after-school exercises.Utilizing the experiment design of the control class and the pre-test and post-test,we carried out a four-month experimental teaching.First,we integrated Tibetan traditional culture into the teaching design of every class of the high school physics textbook I,and carried out teaching experiment with Tibetan cultural elements in two experimental classes, one of which was supplemented by the corresponding characteristic after-school exercises.Testing the effectiveness of the experimental teaching through questionnaires and exam scores it turns out that the secondary development of high school physics textbooks with ethnic cultural elements has a significant influence in promoting the physical learning of students in ethnic areas, which can improve the interest of ethnic students in learning physics, enhance theirself-efficacy in physics learning and improve the physics scores.Such influence is more obvious in the experimental class which utilized both teaching and after-school exercises with Tibetan cultural elements. In ethnic areas,it is generally believed that the teaching level of teachers of Han nationality is better than that of teachers of minorities. In fact, however, the grades of the minority class taught by teachers of Han nationality are often not as good as those taught by teachers of minorities. Therefore, for teachers of Han nationality in ethnic areas, learning and properly integrating local traditional culture into teaching is quite necessary.Of course, teachers of Han nationality should also take advantages of their strengths to expose students to more advanced and cutting-edge knowledge. When carrying out the secondary development of textbooks, teachers of Han nationality should also pay attention to the convergence and integration of traditional culture and contemporary scientific and technological progress.
