In recent years,more and more people are learning Chinese,most schools in Thailand have offered Chinese courses,and schools with good conditions have opened Chinese language professional program for high school students.Although many schools offer Chinese language courses,at present,most schools are mainly based on comprehensive classes,and it is hoped that learners will acquire basic knowledge of language skills on four aspects of listening,speaking,reading and writing.In my opinion,the comprehensive course is not,in fact,able to improve the language skills of learners in these four aspects,especially the ability to read and write,mainly because the students in the comprehensive class have little opportunity to speak,and I suggest that the school should offer courses,such as,oral classes or audio-visual speaking classes,so that students can effectively improve language communication skills,then be able to make better use of Chinese for communication.At present,the teaching methods of Chinese become more and more diversified,multimedia teaching method and audio-visual method play an important role in the classof Chinese listeningand speaking.Inorder to improve the Chinese communicative competence of Thai high school students,I use the American cartoon film "Kung Fu Panda 1" as the teaching material for the design of Chinese audio-visual speaking course.Through watching the film clips,learners can experience the Chinese native speaker's accent and speed,which not only can improve students' abilities to listen and speak,but also allow students to learn things that are not available in general classes.Because many elements of Chinese culture occurred in the film,which embodies the authentic Chinese-style thinking,the teacher can take this opportunity to explain Chinese culture in class so that students are able to have a deep understanding of the lifestyle,culture,and customs of the Chinese.This article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.It mainly introduces the background and significance of this topic,how to choose the suitable teaching content for students.The second chapter mainly introduces the general situations of audio-visual speaking course of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the theoretical basis of audio-visual speaking teaching method and the necessity of setting it up.The third chapter mainly analyzes the value of the textbook of the cartoon film “Kung Fu Panda 1”.It introduces the film content,the reason for choosing this film,the language value in the film,the Chinese cultural value appearing in the filmand so on.The fourth chapter mainly takes “Kung Fu Panda 1” as the teaching material.It aims at the Chinese audio-visual speaking course for Thai students,carries on the design of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,mainly includes the linguistic aspect,the cultural aspect,the after-class exercises,and the activities and so on.I hope that this study can provide some ideas about Chinese language teaching in Thailand and be able to make a modest contribution to the study of Chinese teaching in Thailand.Also,I expect teachers to be able to take advantage of Chinese audio-visual speaking course to effectively improve students' communicative competence in Chinese.
