With the aging of the population and the development of the refugee crisis, the impact of demographic changes on the country's political economy is worthy of attention.Developed countries and developing countries face similar demographic challenges, compared to developing countries, developed countries are more experienced in responding to demographic changes and their impact. In terms of domestic policy and foreign policy,Germany has undergone profound adjustments under the pressure of changes in population factors and has achieved good results.Considering the representativeness of Germany's demographic changes and achievements make it important to analyze the changes in the German population and the policy adjustments made by the German government. In addition to the aging trend, population changes in Germany also have significant changes in population size, age structure and immigration. The German social security system and the government's foreign policy are posed to different challenges by the steady growth of the population size, the ageing of the age structure and the increase of immigrants. In face of this kind of situation, the Schroeder government reformed the social security system while Merkel government adjusted foreign policy.By combing the Schroeder government's reform of the social security system,it is clear that the changes in the age structure of the population have an impact on domestic politics, including the low employment level of the working population, the heavy burden of social pension, and the inability of the national economy to achieve sustainable development.Schroeder ' s reforms have alleviated these negative effects to some extent. After the Schroeder government reform,Germany achieved steady economic growth and became a model in the EU countries. The Merkel government has adopted a more initiative foreign policy with the country's growing strength and influence. The open refugee policy is one of the representatives.Under the German public's pressure,Merkel's new government began to implement a more rigorous refugee policy. To sum up,the influence of demographic changes on country's economic development and party politics will make the government implement reform measures.Paying attention to the impact of demographic changes and making top-level design in advance is an experience that China should learn from under the new population situation.
