With the progress of globalization,the intercultural exchanges are getting closer and closer,and cross-cultural awareness has become an important quality that people must have to carry out cross-cultural communication activities.Foreign novels contain a wealth of cultural knowledge,which has become a window for students to understand multiculturalism,and it has also become a high-quality resource that Chinese students need to use to cultivate cross-cultural awareness in Chinese teaching.However,in practical teaching,due to various factors,foreign novels have not exerted their unique educational value.This paper is based on cultivating students' intercultural consciousness,guided by intercultural understanding of educational theories and education for international understanding,and explores the instructional design with selected texts from foreign novels as the discussion texts in the textbooks,in the hope of providing inspiration and reference for current Chinese teaching.This paper is mainly divided into four chapters.The first chapter uses questionnaire survey methods,interview methods and participatory observation methods to go deep into the front-line Chinese classroom,investigate the current high school Chinese foreign novel teaching and the status quo of cross-cultural awareness cultivation,grasp first-hand data,and analyze and summarize the current high school Problems in the teaching of Chinese foreign novels and the cultivation of cross-cultural awareness.Based on this,the second chapter analyzes foreign novels,the educational value of foreign novels,and the special value of cross-cultural seminars on foreign novels from the four levels of cross-cultural awareness training,a cross-cultural perspective,and focuses on why we choose to use foreign Novels for teaching cross-cultural awareness.Then,the paper follows the relevant concepts of the new curriculum standard,based on the text and combined with the current actual situation of frontline teaching in senior high school Chinese language.Based on the cultivation of students' cross-cultural awareness,it chooses the "cross-cultural topics" that are closest to the cultivation of cross-cultural awareness in the new curriculum standard the method of "research" relies on foreign novels as texts,and explores teaching strategies from the aspects of selecting research texts and topics,determining teaching content and goals,designing learning tasks,and developing teaching layer by layer.Finally,with the help of the proposed teaching design strategy,the author chose "Heroes" as the topic,studied the foreign novel "The Old Man and the Sea" as the main text,and used the Chinese fable story "Old Man Yu Gong and the Mountains" and related background materials as the main research text.Expand reading texts,use the form of special seminars to develop the teaching design of cross-cultural awareness of foreign novels,and summarize and analyze the results and problems that have arisen on the basis of practice,in order to provide inspiration and help for related research and practice.
