This thesis aims to find out a way to integrate education of cross-culture awareness in Chinese language courses,by taking an example of mythology-related texts in primary school Chinese language courses,affected by globalization need to pay attention to cultivation of students' cross-culture awareness.At the same times,education department repeatedly raise that students are not only required to learn the rich and sophisticated Chinese culture,but also to respect and derive nourishment from other splendid cultures.However,during the author 's internship,it is found out that the status for cross-culture awareness education in Chinese language teaching is not encouraging,and cross-culture awareness among primary students allows no optimism.Based on this aim,this thesis firstly investigates the status of cross-culture education in Chinese language teaching in grade 4,5 and 6 in primary schools by means of questionnaire.It is found out that the status for cross-culture awareness education in Chinese language teaching is not encouraging,and cross-culture awareness among primary students allows no optimism.Then,by employing the method of multidisciplinary analysis of some specific theories in the subject of anthropology,mythology,history and literature,this thesis digs out the connections between mythology and culture.Then,this thesis takes for reference some mythology-related teaching cases such as the class case entitled"An Theme Exploration of Mythology-A Comprehensive Study" by a teacher named Ms.Lin Mei from the Chinese Language Section of the Third Middle School in Zhangzhou.This thesis,by employing the method of cross-culture comparison and by targeting at the mythology texts in primary schools that share the same theme but are cross-culture and cross-country in nature,designs a teaching plan of how to cultivate cross-culture awareness through mythology teaching,that is the comparison teaching of the article "Prometheus" and "Drill Wood to Make Fire by Suiren".The thesis then comes up with several teaching tactics on the way to realize cultivation of cross-culture awareness through mythology teaching.Lastly,the teaching case emphasizes four points that we need pay attention to on cultivating cross-culture awareness in the thesis:1.Guide the students to distinguish the cultural relationship and difference that's behind the stories consciously.2.Various teaching activities should be carried on based on students' interest.3.Lead students to explore,discover and learn the excellent culture of the Chinese nation.4.Cultivate students to learn knowledge that's beyond culture initiatively.Besides,the thesis put forward solutions to the difficulties that's confronted in cultivating cross-culture awareness in teaching.Firstly,improve teachers' quality on cross-culture by providing more related training opportunities.Secondly,develop curriculum resources in daily teaching.While there is still a long way to go for cultivation of cross-culture awareness in Chinese languages courses,the design of teaching cases and the putting forward of several teaching tactics of this thesis,on the way to realize cultivation of cross-culture awareness through mythology teaching,aims to contribute to future explorations on cultivating cross-culture awareness in Chinese language courses and provide some materials worthy of references for other similar studies.
