Encouragement Group Counseling On The Improvement Of Primary School Students' Self-confidence

Self-confidence is the foundation of success,and self-confidence is an important factor in the formation,progress and success of the students' character.The primary school students are in the key period of personality growth,the abstract thinking is gradually dominant,and the self-awareness is more profound.In this stage,it is of far-reaching significance to the intervention and cultivation of the students' self-confidence,to improve the mental health of the primary school students and to better adapt to the study and the life.The psychological counseling of the group has higher efficiency and better guidance effect than the individual's psychological guidance,which is in accordance with the urgent need of the health education of the primary and secondary school students.In this study,Adler's individual psychology was used to encourage the improvement of primary school students' self-confidence by using group counseling in summer camp as an experimental method.The research object of this paper is the students of a summer camp in Tianjin.33 students from the camp were selected and 32 students who did not attend the camp were selected as the control group.The experimental group took part in encouraging group counseling,while the control group had no experimental intervention.The two groups were tested for self-confidence before and after the implementation of the experiment.T test was used for quantitative analysis,and qualitative interview research was carried out on some parents of students participating in summer camp.The results show that the self-confidence of primary school students participating in encouraging group tutoring summer camp activities is significantly higher than that of non-participating primary school students.Combined with interviews,this study puts forward the following educational suggestions:teachers' encouragement for pupils should be at the proper time and to an appropriate degree.Teachers need to increase the methods and skills of encouragement.Parents need to cooperate with teachers to encourage the children and attend more parent-child education lectures.Education departments should take the initiative to encourage knowledge research for teachers and stimulate the cooperative relationship between teachers and parents.
