The call of curriculum standard(2011 Edition)on "less problem-solving,more reading,reading good books,reading the whole book" has become the consensus of teachers and students.From the perspective of accumulating language,developing thinking and cultivating language sense,to learn Chinese well,we must rely more on extracurricular reading.Primary school students are in the critical period of physical and mental development,with its internal independence of development,and the rich and colorful extracurricular reading activities just meet the characteristics of primary school students' physical and mental development.It can not only cultivate primary school students' reading interest,but also transform interest into internal power,so that children immersed in the ocean of knowledge,read more books,and get deeper development.The author chooses 460 middle and senior students from three primary schools A,B and C in a district of Tianjin as subjects to investigate the current situation of extracurricular reading activities in primary schools,In order to further verify the data,the author interviewed the primary school teachers,principals and students.The survey of the current situation of the extracurricular reading activities on campus includes five aspects: the reading environment and area of the primary school campus;the content and form of the extracurricular reading activities on campus;the guidance of the teachers on the reading activities;the reading concept of the principals and teachers;Management and planning of extracurricular reading activities on campus.Through the analysis of the data,the author summarizes the problems of extracurricular reading activities on Campus: Lack of deep consideration,single content and form of extracurricular reading activities;The effective guidance of teachers is insufficient,and the improvement of students' reading habits is not significant;Lack of technical support,the network resources of extracurricular reading activities have not been fully developed;less professional librarians,library has not been fully developed Fifth,the lack of overall planning and suitability evaluation,the depth of extracurricular reading activities is not strong.Based on this,the author gives some suggestionsas follows: breaking through the single reading form,developing students' favorite extracurricular reading activities;strengthening teachers' effective guidance,cultivating students' good reading habits;expanding the function of the extracurricular reading activities network platform by means of information technology;improve the renewal frequency of library,enrich its service content;establish the management mechanism of extracurricular reading activities in campus,and enrich the evaluation methods of activities.
